Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6
When my mother says she wants to drive…NO MA’AM! When my dad says he wants to drive…ABSOLUTELY NOT WITH THOSE BIFOCALS ON SIR!! Is it weird that I always prefer to drive myself because I just trust my own “driving” better? I can’t be the only one. It’s bad when I don’t even trust my own mother and father to get me safely to my destinations. I can only imagine that I have treated God far worse knowing I should trust Him the most. Don’t be a back seat driver to the directions God is giving you. Stop. Listen. Think it through. Pray. And resolve that He is the most trustworthy being in EVERY situation. Sometimes you have to relinquish that control, sit back and enjoy the ride, and know that God is taking you all the places you need to go. Just forgive me for that paranoid side eye God.
Thought: Everyone is the ‘Rookie Driver’ in the driver’s seat of God’s car. He controls the brakes, the turn signal, the radio volume, and who you allow in the backseat. He will keep brake checking you until you learn to trust HIM in ALL things.
Prayer: Lord, help me to remember that I can trust You with all my heart.
Song: Y’all know that Sister Act Rendition of I Will Follow Him…well that’s what is replaying in my head at the moment.
