I was bloated for nearly two years until an ultrasound unmasked a potential silent killer within me.

Ovarian cancer is the most lethal gynecological malignancy that disproportionately affects African American women.  Sorry to start off so grim, but it’s the truth.  I have dealt with ovarian cysts since the birth of Vanesa when I was 25.  Literally, I would have crippling pain and pressure in my lower abdomen.  Many nights my significant other had to lift me off the floor and into bed.
